Nacht Plank is one musical third of the notorious Lee Norris, the man also behind the knobs of Metamatics and Norken. There are strong reasons for separating his musical output, since this allows him to explore, with each one, a different area of sound he feels passionate about. As Metamatics he has released, since 1997, some of the finest and most influential electronica with equal importance as that of contemporary IDM artists Autechre, Boards of Canada and Plaid. Under his Norken persona he has applied his trademark warm and melodic sound to Detroit house-techno to craft some remarkable and soulful deep house textures.

Nacht Plank is where Lee Norris allows himself to experiment the most. Carefully designed beats are abandoned in favor of long sections of dusty soundscapes. Complicated song structures fall apart to leave space for broken and distant melodies to come forth. The organic and melodic sound of Metamatics and Norken is still present, only darker and much dirtier.

Based in rural south England with his wife and two kids, Lee Norris is surrounded by nature and unspoiled beauty. Large green pastures and unexplored forests provide the source for most of Nacht Plank's sound pallette. Away from smoky clubs and high decibels, he is constantly trying to capture the sound of the Earth as it follows its long orbit, carrying us with it. When he's not busy exploring sound he spends his time running his own influential label Neo Ouija, releasing some of the most contemporary and playful electronica.
