A talented graphic designer as well as a musician, Rutger Zuydervelt is based in Arnhem, The Netherlands. Making music since '96, this has given him the opportunity to explore many different styles and techniques. Formerly a guitarist in a doom-metal band, he was also part of De Elektronikawinkel, Box or 10 Pcs., Vincent, Aut or Matic and Flex. Through his various live shows he has bedazzled his audiences with a mixture of sound art and processed toy-instruments, guitars and domestic appliances, the basis of his musical language. Although influenced by artists such as Fennesz, Merzbow and Tim Hecker, he is always in search of new sonic territories.
Machinefabriek tries to incorporate found sound with pre-recorded material and live instrumentation to create dense and abstract sonic environments. He has so far been releasing his music through his website in the form of 3" cds. |
