Stills from "Multiple Recordings of Movement", a short film completed in September 2005 which follows the themes of Time, Motion, Change and Perception in relation to space. Through motion the human body interacts with its surrounding environment thus determining its temporal/spacial relation to it and the laws that govern visual perception.

Still images were used as background mattes, onto which the moving parts were then superimposed, referencing (cinema) projection. The stills depict locations from all around the world, and combined with the abstract, almost dance-like movie clips, add to the distorted sense of scale and location, thus breaking the barriers between real and fabricated. The filming of the moving subjects was inspired by the Chronophotographic Movement of Eadweard Muybridge and Etienne Marey, the late 19th Century Photographers responsible for the developments towards the invention of Cinema.

The stills are courtesy of various filmmakers and photographers, some of which remain anonymous.
